The Club des Signataires de la Charte des Engagements Écoresponsables des Organisateurs d’Événements Sportifs met on 24 April at the Ministry of Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The aim of the meeting was to review the priorities for all the major sports event organisers, with a view to moving towards more energy- and water-efficient sport, adapting sport to the challenges of climate change and strengthening eco-responsibility in sport.
Event organisers had the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss best practice. The emphasis was on encouraging collective intelligence to achieve the objectives set out in the charter. Hervé Brien, head of sustainable development at ADEM, also took the floor to share our vision of the sustainable procurement policy.
The meeting was an opportunity to reinforce the commitment of sports event organisers to environmental protection and sustainable development. The charter of eco-responsible commitments plays a key role in promoting a more environmentally-friendly approach to sport.
As a member of the Signatories’ Club, Décastar will continue to work actively to implement these eco-responsible commitments for future editions. Awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability in sport is a step towards a greener, more responsible future for international sporting competitions.
